BIC, a global leader in stationery, has partnered with the Ogun State Ministry of Education to donate 50,000 writing tools to students for the back-to-school season. This initiative aligns with BIC’s commitment to improving learning conditions for 250 million students by 2025 and is part of its broader effort in Nigeria to support academic performance.

Adeyemi Ojo, Business Development Lead at BIC Nigeria, highlighted the importance of adequate resources for student success and expressed the company’s pleasure in partnering with Ogun State. He emphasized BIC’s responsibility to provide learners with the necessary tools to succeed and its commitment to supporting local communities and future generations.

Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Abayomi Arigbabu, expressed gratitude for BIC’s donation and underscored the significance of government and corporate partnerships in advancing education. He noted that no government can fund education entirely on its own and praised the collaboration with BIC and other philanthropists.

The event, held at the Ministry of Education’s premises in Oke Imosan, Abeokuta, featured the presentation of two standout students: Sarah Adelakun, who placed second in the National Anchor Competition, and Ayodele Babalola, who designed a prototype ATM. Both students thanked the state government and BIC for the writing tools.

Dignitaries from the Ogun State Ministry of Education and BIC attended the event, including Oluwatosin Oloko, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology; Obadiah Akindele, Director of Education, Planning, Research, and Statistics; Rotimi Okeleye, Deputy Director of Education Support Services; Adeyemi Ojo, Business Development Lead at BIC Nigeria; and Patrick Bello, Trade Marketing Lead at BIC Nigeria. Over 70 students and their teachers from various schools in Ogun State were also present.
