In a move to bolster educational infrastructure and regional development, the Bonny Local Government has initiated a collaborative dialogue with the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas (FPOG), Bonny.

The discussions primarily focused on the upgrading of the polytechnic’s JAMB CBT Centre. The delegation sought ways to enhance the facility to meet international standards, ensuring that Bonny Island remains a competitive hub for national examinations and digital literacy. Other areas of potential intervention by the Local Government were also deliberated to assist the polytechnic in fulfilling its technical mandate.

The management team, welcomed the delegation, noting that the local government represents the institution’s closest tier of governance. Dr. Okolobah has been recognized for his "human-centered" leadership approach, actively driving innovation and moving the polytechnic toward a period of transformative transition.

“The input of the local government can significantly strengthen the institution, enabling us to deliver effectively on our mandate,” Dr. Okolobah stated. He reaffirmed that the polytechnic remains open to all stakeholders committed to advancing the quality of education on the Island.
