The Borno State government has launched a scholarship program to sponsor indigent students for studies in China, focusing on the Chinese language, medicine (MBBS),and engineering. Prospective applicants have until August 15 to submit their applications, and individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 25 to be considered.

The announcement was made by Mallam Bala Isa, Executive Secretary of the Borno Scholarship Board, during an interview with journalists on Tuesday. Governor Babagana Zulum has further approved the scholarship and would cover tuition, living expenses, and other related costs at reputable Chinese institutions.

Eligibility criteria have been put in place to ensure that only the most deserving candidates are selected for these opportunities. Applicants for the Chinese language program must have excelled in arts subjects, while candidates for medicine and engineering must pass subjects such as English, mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics. A minimum of 75% in WAEC for MBBS and 65% in WAEC for engineering is required.

Prospective applicants have until August 15 to submit their applications, and individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 25 to be considered.
