British Canadian University Appoints Prof. Adekojo Waheed as Vice-Chancellor
The Board of the British Canadian University (BCU), Obudu, Cross River State, has announced the appointment of Professor Adekojo Waheed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the institution for a five-year tenure.
The Board of the British Canadian University (BCU), Obudu, Cross River State, has announced the appointment of Professor Adekojo Waheed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the institution for a five-year tenure.
Professor Waheed, a distinguished scholar and administrator, is a Professor of Thermofluids and Fluid Mechanics at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), where he previously served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
He holds a Doctor of Engineering Science (Dr. Eng. Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from Aachen University of Technology (RWTH), Germany, as well as Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ilorin, where he graduated with Second Class Honours (Upper Division).
An accomplished academic, Professor Waheed has received numerous awards and fellowships, including the Commonwealth Fellowship at the University of Bath, United Kingdom, and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarship for his doctoral studies. He was also the Best Graduating Student and University Scholar in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ilorin.
In his congratulatory message, the Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, Professor Babatunde Kehinde, described the appointment as a “well-deserved recognition of excellence,” commending Professor Waheed’s remarkable academic record, leadership skills, and dedication to institutional growth. He expressed optimism that Professor Waheed would bring visionary leadership and global standards to British Canadian University.
Professor Waheed is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FNIMechE), and a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
His appointment marks a new phase in BCU’s pursuit of academic distinction, innovation, and global competitiveness.
