The Centre for Qur'anic Studies (CQS), Bayero University Kano (BUK), is currently holding a two day Workshop with the theme: Halal and Haram in Islamic Finance: Qur'anic foundations, Contemporary challenges, and future prospects.

The workshop which commenced today, Monday 8th December, 2025 at CBN Centre of Excellence, Bayero University, Kano, is aimed at explaining the Qur'anic principles of Halal and Haram in finance, showing how modern financial products are rooted in classical texts and the objective of Shari'ah. It also addresses the misconception and shares best practices through case studies from Nigeria and around the world, demonstrating that Shari'ah-compliant finance is both practical and beneficial.
