In a grand ceremony held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, Clifford University, located in Owerrinta, Abia State, marked its 8th Matriculation Ceremony. The event saw the formal induction of 332 students into various departments of the university.

President and Vice-Chancellor of Clifford University, Professor Chimezie Omeonu, addressed the gathering and highlighted the university's recent accreditation of additional faculties and courses by the National Universities Commission (NUC). Notably, the Nursing Science department has expanded its intake capacity from 50 to 120 students.

Furthermore, Professor Omeonu announced the commencement of operations at the Port Harcourt Campus of the University and its accreditation as a full ICAN registered center. He also unveiled plans for the newly established Faculty of Education, which will offer sandwich, weekend, and part-time programs.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by the institution, including the lack of a medical science laboratory complex, incomplete facilities, and infrastructure, Professor Omeonu assured stakeholders of ongoing efforts to address these issues.

Dr. Ezebunwa Ubani, Chairman of the Ceremonies and Awards Committee, praised the academic excellence exhibited by Clifford University students, citing the recent achievement of an overall best student in a national contest as evidence of the quality education imparted by the institution.
