Communities Donate Land for ESUT Schools Projects

The Enugu University of Science and Technology (ESUT) is set to undergo expansion thanks to a generous donation of 30 plots of land from the communities of Obe and Umueze in Nkanu West local government area of Enugu State. This donation, aimed at facilitating the establishment of nursery, primary, and secondary schools, underscores the commitment of these communities to the advancement of education in the region.
Leaders from Obe and Umueze communities formalized the land donation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ESUT officials at the university's main campus in Agbani. Speaking at the ceremony, HRH Igwe Stephen Nweke, the traditional ruler of Obe Community, emphasized the strengthened relationship between the host communities and the university, attributing it to the efforts of ESUT's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Alloysius Michaels-Okolie.

According to Igwe Nweke, the decision to allocate the land to ESUT reflects the communities' desire to support Governor Peter Mbah's development agenda for the state. He highlighted the pivotal role of ESUT in bringing progress to the area and affirmed the communities' commitment to safeguarding the university's interests.
