Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, has once again solidified its position as a leader in academic excellence, as 339 students graduated with First-Class honors at the university’s 19th convocation ceremony. This achievement underscores the institution's commitment to intellectual growth and academic discipline, further establishing it as one of Nigeria’s top universities.

The announcement was made during the convocation ceremony, highlighting Covenant University's dedication to fostering high academic standards and shaping future leaders across Africa and the world. The university’s Christian values, combined with its transformative learning environment, have contributed to producing graduates who excel in their chosen fields.

Dr. David Oyedepo, Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Regents, spoke passionately about the university's mission to provide quality education and build strong character in students. He noted that the university has been award-winning since its inception and is now one of the most sought-after private institutions in Nigeria. "We are committed to solving character problems among young people and will continue to be a solution-bearing institution," he said.

In his address, the Pro-Chancellor, Bishop David Abioye, encouraged graduates to exhibit patience in their post-graduation pursuits. He urged them to become solution providers and change agents in their communities. "You have been molded into leaders; it is now time for you to go into the world and soar as eagles," he added.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo praised the students' dedication, stating, “Their First-Class degrees reflect their hard work and Covenant University’s unwavering commitment to producing global change-makers.”

The convocation ceremony saw a total of 1,607 graduates, including 762 with Second-Class Upper honors and 330 with Second-Class Lower honors. Sanni Rilwan Oludamilere, a graduate of Industrial Mathematics, was named the Best Overall graduate with a CGPA of 4.99.

This milestone is a testament to Nigeria's growing academic prowess, as Covenant University continues to raise the bar in education, producing graduates ready to tackle global challenges.
