Dr. (Mrs.) Basilia Igbokwe has been officially appointed as the ninth Rector of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri. The appointment, confirmed by the Minister of State for the Federal Ministry of Education, marks a significant milestone in her distinguished academic career.
Dr. Igbokwe, a graduate of the University of Nigeria Nsukka with a BA in English (1991), holds an MA in English from the University of Uyo and completed her PhD in English at the same institution in 2007. She also possesses an HND, ND, and several diplomas in Public Administration and Computer Applications.
With a robust background in both teaching and administration, Dr. Igbokwe has been a notable member of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede since 2008. Her previous roles include Chief Lecturer, Deputy Director of Monitoring & Evaluation, and Head of Departments in Mass Communications and Humanities. Additionally, she has served as Director of Welfare and Social Responsibility and participated in various institutional committees.
