Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, a well-known philanthropist, education advocate, and political figure in Benue State, has announced the approval of scholarships for 24 additional students. As the MD/CEO of First Fertility Hospital, Makurdi, and the Chief Medical Director at Benue State University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Hwande continues his longstanding commitment to advancing education in the region.
The scholarship program aims to support underprivileged youth, including eight orphans, providing them with educational opportunities from secondary school through to tertiary institutions. "Education is the cornerstone of personal and societal growth," Dr. Hwande emphasized. "By investing in the education of these deserving students, we empower them to reach their full potential and contribute positively to their communities."
The newly announced scholarships will cover:
- Eight orphans, supporting their education from secondary to tertiary levels.
- Eleven students at the tertiary level, covering their studies from 100 level through to graduation.
- Five students from primary to senior secondary school, with an opportunity for the scholarship to be renewed for tertiary education.
Dr. Hwande's initiative builds on his established efforts to provide access to quality education, reflecting his deep dedication to uplifting Benue's youth. The list of scholarship beneficiaries, along with their respective institutions, is set to be released soon.
