Dr. Ibrahim O. Salawu, a seasoned academic from the Department of Politics and Governance at Kwara State University, has been appointed as the Sub Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies.

Dr. Ibrahim O. Salawu, a seasoned academic from the Department of Politics and Governance at Kwara State University, has been appointed as the Sub Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies.


The appointment, approved by the Acting Vice-Chancellor and conveyed through a letter dated March 20, 2024, bears the signature of the Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee.

Dr. Salawu brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as the postgraduate programme coordinator within the Department of Politics and Governance.

Prior to joining the university in 2012, he acquired extensive experience in the banking and telecommunications sectors.

As a senior lecturer, Dr. Salawu plays a pivotal role in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, imparting knowledge and supervising students' research endeavors.

His academic journey includes obtaining a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Political Science in 2002 and an M.Sc. in Political Science in 2010, both from the University of Ilorin.

He furthered his education by earning a Ph.D. in Political Science in 2016 from the International Islamic University, Malaysia.
