The Edo State Ministry of Education has fixed Monday, January 19, 2026, as the new resumption date for all public and private primary and secondary schools in Edo Central Senatorial District for the Second Term of the 2025/2026 academic session.

The decision was contained in a special public announcement issued on January 13, 2026, and signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, following a review of the earlier postponement of resumption in the district.

The ministry directed parents, guardians, school administrators, proprietors, and other education stakeholders to comply with the revised date to ensure a smooth and effective start to academic activities across the senatorial district.

Dr. Iyamu also commended stakeholders for their patience and cooperation, while reaffirming the Edo State Government’s commitment to improving the welfare of learners and strengthening the quality of education throughout the state.
