Ekiti State Polytechnic Implements Strict Dress Code, Shuns Anti-Social Groups
The Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti, has banned tattered jeans, rubber slippers, sagging trousers, body tattoos, and wearing earrings among males, as well as hair coloring and other similar practices on campus.He stressed that any student found violating the dress code and other rules will be heavily sanctioned, while those who join antisocial groups will be promptly expelled and handed over to security agencies.
The Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan Ekiti, has banned tattered jeans, rubber slippers, sagging trousers, body tattoos, and wearing earrings among males, as well as hair coloring and other similar practices on campus. The institution also declared that it will not condone the activities of any antisocial group, particularly membership in cult groups.
This was disclosed by the Rector of the institution, Prof. Kayode Adesodun, on Monday during the fourth matriculation exercise for new entrants. He stressed that any student found violating the dress code and other rules will be heavily sanctioned, while those who join antisocial groups will be promptly expelled and handed over to security agencies.

In his words, ‘The polytechnic encourages all students to dress in accordance with accepted standards, while any inappropriate exposure of body parts will be met with strict sanctions. Wearing tattered or overly casual jeans, rubber slippers, sagging trousers, body tattoos, earrings for males, hair coloring, and other similar practices are strictly prohibited on campus and will result in serious sanctions.’
He further added, ‘The security unit has been authorized to apprehend offenders for necessary action.’ Speaking also to returning and old students, Kayode advised them to stay away from antisocial and clandestine groups, emphasizing that anyone found involved in such activities will be expelled and handed over to the security agencies.

According to him, ‘The greatest disservice you can do to us as staff and to your parents/guardians is to engage in activities that may lead to your expulsion from this institution. Therefore, I urge you to resist any temptation to join clandestine groups that promote violence and deviant behavior.’"
