Ekiti State University has announced the official programme of activities marking its 30th Convocation Ceremonies, scheduled to hold from April 7 to April 11, 2026, covering academic, ceremonial, and alumni engagement events.

The convocation will commence on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with a Vice-Chancellor’s press conference at the New Senate Chamber by 11:00 a.m., followed by a convocation play at 2:00 p.m. at the Main Auditorium on campus.

On Wednesday, April 8, activities continue with the Convocation Lecture at the Main Auditorium, featuring Prof. Ayodeji Oludare Omole, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. The lecture is themed “Power, Responsibility and Stewardship: Balancing the Barricade with Governance.” The day also includes awards of excellence, debates, a convocation meeting, and an alumni dinner.

Thursday, April 9 is dedicated to institutional engagements at designated venues, while Friday, April 10 will feature the award of sub-degree and first-degree certificates, alongside prize presentations.

The ceremony culminates on Saturday, April 11, 2026, with the conferment of postgraduate diplomas, master’s, and doctorate degrees, as well as honorary degrees at the Main Auditorium.

The university outlined strict administrative procedures for graduands, including verification of names on the institution’s official portal, collection of academic robes upon payment, and adherence to deadlines, with robe returns due by April 17, 2026. Penalties will apply for late submission or damage of academic gowns.

Graduands cleared for completion will also be eligible for immediate certificate collection during convocation, subject to payment of prescribed fees and submission of required documentation, including identification, clearance evidence, and passport photographs.

The institution further emphasized that all payments must be made strictly through its official portal, warning against third-party transactions and potential fraud risks.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Joseph Babatola Ayodele congratulated graduands, describing the convocation as a milestone achievement for the graduating class, while the Ceremonies Committee confirmed full logistical readiness for the event.

The announcement signals a tightly structured convocation season designed to combine academic recognition with administrative efficiency and alumni engagement.
