EKSU VC Seeks Private Funding Support to Address Infrastructure and Financial Gaps
Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti has called for increased financial support from philanthropists and private investors to address infrastructure and operational needs across the institution.
Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti has called for increased financial support from philanthropists and private investors to address infrastructure and operational needs across the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatola Ayodele, made the appeal on Tuesday during a press briefing in Ado-Ekiti ahead of the university’s 30th convocation ceremony.
He noted that despite ongoing improvements in academic delivery and governance, the university still faces significant infrastructure deficits, particularly in capital-intensive areas such as the College of Medicine, which he described as requiring autonomous funding support to function effectively.
According to him, several departments require upgraded equipment and expanded facilities, while the institution also needs additional resources to improve transportation systems, accommodation infrastructure, and general student welfare services.

Prof. Ayodele urged investors, alumni, and philanthropic organisations to engage directly with the university management to support development projects aligned with their interests and capacity.
He acknowledged the contributions of the Ekiti State Government and the university’s Governing Council, commending the increased subvention and sustained administrative support that have enabled steady institutional progress.
He also assured staff and students that the administration remains committed to improving learning conditions, strengthening security architecture, and sustaining academic stability across all programmes.
The Vice-Chancellor’s appeal comes as the university prepares for its 30th convocation ceremony, during which 10,959 graduates will be awarded diplomas, bachelor’s degrees, and higher degrees across multiple academic levels.
