In a momentous occasion, the New Ultra Modern Child and Maternal Care Unit at the Godfrey Okoye University Teaching Hospital in Enugu was officially commissioned, heralding a new era for healthcare services in the region. Mrs. Ngozi Eni, Commissioner for Children, Gender Affairs, and Social Development, expressed her concerns regarding the state of health services in the country. She underscored the government's dedication to addressing issues such as malnutrition affecting children and mothers in Enugu. Commending Godfrey Okoye University for its steadfast commitment to child and maternal care, Mrs. Eni urged hospital workers to approach their services with compassion and diligence.

Reverend Father Professor Christian Anieke, Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University, emphasized the university's determination to produce the finest medical practitioners and health services in the nation.
