In a remarkable achievement, 18-year-old Ja'Leaha Thornton has emerged as the valedictorian of Glades Central Community High School in the United States, showcasing extraordinary academic prowess. Her outstanding performance has not only earned her the prestigious title but has also resulted in acceptance into an impressive 72 colleges and universities across the United States.

Speaking about her strategy, Thornton highlighted her use of fee waivers and cost-effective application methods, mentioning that she spent at most $20 on the entire process. She emphasized her desire to explore different schools outside her state, broadening her horizons through a diverse array of options.
Initially considering Howard University in Washington, D.C. as her dream school, Thornton ultimately decided to attend Xavier University of Louisiana, a historically Black university in New Orleans. Reflecting on the acceptance letter from Xavier University, she expressed both nervousness and excitement, realizing the wealth of options available to her.

Thornton plans to major in pre-medical psychology and minor in chemistry at Xavier University. She envisions studying abroad in Asia and pursuing medical school after completing her undergraduate studies.
