In an exceptional achievement, 17-year-old Michael Brown, a Houston teen and graduate of Mirabeau B. Lamar High School in Texas, has been awarded a full-ride scholarship worth $260,000 to study at 20 distinguished universities across the United States.
Brown, an outstanding student, gained acceptance into prestigious institutions, including all eight Ivy League universities, Harvard, Princeton, Northwestern, Yale, University of Pennsylvania, Stanford, Georgetown, and Vanderbilt. His academic prowess, determination, and sacrifices have paid off, culminating in this remarkable accomplishment.

While at Mirabeau B. Lamar High School, Brown actively participated in extracurricular activities such as the debate team, mock trial, and student government. His notable essay titled "The moment I saw Barack Obama get elected" reflected his aspirations to follow in the footsteps of the former President.
Expressing pride in his achievements, Brown stated, "It’s something I’m proud of because I see my hard work paying off, determination paying off, sacrifices paying off." His mother, Berthinia Rutledge-Brown, attested to his ambition and determination, emphasizing that Brown was in control of his education from an early age.

Brown plans to major in Political Science at the university, subsequently attending law school and returning to Houston to contribute to the community.
