An 11-year-old boy from Texas, Orion Jean, has received the prestigious TIME's Kid of the Year award in recognition of his unwavering commitment to making the world a kinder place. Orion, who has been known for his philanthropic endeavors since 5th grade, garnered attention for his "Race to 100k Meals" initiative, where he donated 100,000 snacks through a Thanksgiving charity drive.

In 2020, Orion's kindness and compassion earned him the top spot in the National Kindness Speech Contest, along with a $500 prize.
