Federal Polytechnic Damaturu Hosts 3rd Ramadan Lecture

The Federal Polytechnic Muslim Forum recently organized its 3rd Ramadan lecture, which took place at the polytechnic's lecture theatre.
The event featured a lecture titled "Last Ten Days of Ramadan in Quranic Perspective," delivered by Professor Muhammad Mustapha Adam Jatkawi of Yobe State University, Damaturu.
In his welcome address, Mallam Sani Galadima, Chairman of the Muslim Forum, emphasized the importance of the lecture series, which is an annual event during Ramadan. He encouraged attendees to give attention to the lecture and derive valuable insights from it.
Professor Jatkawi's lecture focused on the significance of the last ten days of Ramadan, particularly the observance of late-night prayers (Qiyyamul Layl) for Laylatul Qadr (Night of Power). He explained that the Night of Power is expected to occur on odd days starting from the 21st of Ramadan, with the 27th and 29th days being the most anticipated.
The professor emphasized that the Night of Power is believed to be the night when the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He encouraged worshippers to seek forgiveness and blessings during the night prayer.
Other recommended actions during the last days of Ramadan, according to Professor Jatkawi, include reciting the Quran, especially Suratul Qadr, making dua to Allah, seeking forgiveness and guidance, and praying for the nation. He also emphasized the importance of Dikr (remembrance of Allah) using phrases such as "Glory be to Allah" and "Allah is the greatest."
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mallam Adamu Ibrahim, Secretary of the Daawa Committee of the Muslim Forum, who appreciated the guest lecturer and attendees, urging them to make the most of the last ten days of Ramadan.
