FAZAMSS Demands Justice for Murdered FUGUS Student Zarah Abubakar Shehu

The Federated Association of Zamfara State Students (FAZAMSS) has condemned the brutal murder of Zarah Abubakar Shehu, a Sociology student at Federal University Gusau (FUGUS), and demanded immediate justice.
Zarah, a native of Sokoto State, was abducted on November 3, 2024, in Damba, Gusau, and her kidnappers initially demanded a ₦30 million ransom, later reduced to ₦10 million. Despite her family's financial struggles, they managed to raise and pay the ransom, but Zarah was tragically murdered.
FAZAMSS National President, Amb. Nasir Gamagiwa, described the incident as a direct attack on students' safety and called for swift action from the Federal and Zamfara State Governments, as well as security agencies. The association insists that those responsible must be identified, arrested, and prosecuted without delay.
FAZAMSS warned that if justice is not served, they will mobilize and shut down all institutions in the state. The association reaffirmed its commitment to protecting students in Zamfara, declaring that Zarah's death must not be in vain.
This incident highlights the growing concern about student safety in Nigeria, particularly in Zamfara State, where there have been reports of student abductions and killings .
