FCE Pankshin Students Among First Beneficiaries of NELFUND

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has officially launched the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). This initiative aims to leverage education as a strategic tool for economic growth and poverty reduction. FCE Pankshin was honored to be one of only three Federal Colleges of Education invited to the launch event.

The Student Loan Access to Higher Education Act, signed into law by President Tinubu in April 2024, represents a transformative step in Nigerian education policy, empowering a significant number of students to achieve their academic goals.

At the inauguration ceremony held at Aso Villa, Abuja, Dr. Mrs. Christiana Fwenji Zumyil, Acting Provost of the Federal College of Education (FCE) Pankshin, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for this pivotal initiative. Dr. Zumyil commended the President for fulfilling a key promise from his renewed hope manifesto, making tertiary education more accessible and affordable.

FCE Pankshin was honored to be one of only three Federal Colleges of Education invited to the launch event. The College was presented with a dummy cheque of Sixty-Three Million, Six Hundred and Twenty-Eight Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty-Five Naira (₦63,628,425.00), marking a significant milestone for the institution.

As of now, 164,000 students have registered on the NELFUND portal, with 110,000 having applied for the loan. This reflects a robust response to the new funding opportunity aimed at supporting students across Nigeria.
