Professor Aisha Maikudi Takes Over as UniAbuja Vice Chancellor from Na’allah

Na’Allah, a graduate of the University of Ilorin, where he also obtained his master's degree, later earned his PhD in comparative literature from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. Before his tenure at UniAbuja, he was the Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University.

Professor Aisha Maikudi Takes Over as UniAbuja Vice Chancellor from Na’allah

Professor Aisha Maikudi has officially assumed the role of Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja). On Monday, July 1, outgoing Vice Chancellor Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah handed over the reins to Maikudi in a ceremony that marked the end of his tenure.

Maikudi, a 41-year-old renowned professor of International Law, was appointed following her nomination at the valedictory Senate meeting held on June 26. She succeeds Na’Allah, who served as UniAbuja's Vice Chancellor since July 1, 2019.

Na’Allah, a graduate of the University of Ilorin, where he also obtained his master's degree, later earned his PhD in comparative literature from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. Before his tenure at UniAbuja, he was the Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University.

In his handover speech, Na’Allah expressed gratitude to the university community and highlighted the accomplishments achieved during his tenure. He stated, "I am grateful to have a strong team to have worked with me and I am handing over to the same great team. It is my prayer that the university will continue to make giant strides. I will continue to support the university in whatever way I can."

Na’Allah mentioned that he will be on sabbatical, indicating that he remains connected to the institution.
