Federal Government Announces Recruitment of 3,500 New Teachers for Unity Colleges
The Ministry of Education is collaborating with the Office of the Head of Service and the Federal Civil Service Commission to facilitate the recruitment process.
The Federal Government has unveiled plans to recruit 3,500 new teaching staff for Federal Unity Colleges across the country. This initiative was announced by Dr. Yusuf Sununu, Minister of State for Education, during a National Stakeholders’ Forum on Senior Secondary Education in Nigeria.
Dr. Sununu emphasized that the recruitment aims to significantly enhance the quality of education and is part of a broader effort to improve the education sector. The Ministry of Education is collaborating with the Office of the Head of Service and the Federal Civil Service Commission to facilitate the recruitment process.
In addition to the recruitment, the Ministry has provided extensive training for over 1,000 staff members in technology application and established more than 53 vocational skills acquisition centers. Furthermore, the government has approved the construction of 50 additional model schools to support educational advancement.
Dr. Sununu highlighted that these steps are crucial for revitalizing senior secondary education and aligning it with global standards, which is essential for shaping the future of Nigerian students.
