Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, Launches Innovative Pre-HND Programmes
The new preparatory courses are designed as a one-year bridging initiative for National Diploma (ND) holders. The curriculum aims to provide the foundational knowledge and technical prerequisites—such as specific engineering competencies or management experience—required for seamless transition into full HND programmes.
According to a statement by the Senior Assistant Registrar and Public Relations Officer, Anthony Ogbe, the initiative is part of the polytechnic’s broader mission to eliminate "visible and invisible barriers" to advanced technical education.
"The institution believes the power of knowledge lies in its ability to empower individuals, drive societal progress, and transform lives," Ogbe stated. "The door is now open; we encourage those willing to learn to walk through it and become the best version of themselves."
The Pre-HND programmes at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, are structured to turn information into practical understanding, particularly for students transitioning between different engineering focuses or those returning from industry. By fostering critical thinking and problem-solving capacity, the polytechnic aims to equip students with the necessary tools to navigate the specialized demands of the oil and gas sector and beyond.
Prospective students are encouraged to contact the Directorate of Continuing Education for enrollment details and available disciplinary tracks for the 2026 academic session.
