The Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, has issued a strict internal circular prohibiting all forms of mining and cryptocurrency trading during working hours. This directive, communicated by the Office of the Director of Administration, is a response to numerous complaints from patients and their families about staff distractions caused by such activities.
The circular, distributed to all staff members and copied to key hospital departments including the Chief Medical Director (CMD) and Heads of Departments (HODs), emphasizes that engaging in mining or cryptocurrency trading while on duty is unacceptable. The hospital's management has warned that any staff member caught violating this rule will face disciplinary action in accordance with the Public Service Rule.
To enforce this directive, the hospital has deployed SERVICOM, ACTU, and Security Officers to monitor compliance. Staff are advised to focus fully on their duties to ensure optimal patient care.
The Deputy Director of Administration, Adamu Usman Teld, issued the notice on behalf of the Director of Administration, urging all staff to adhere strictly to the new policy.
