FUHSO VC Leads Governing Council on Inspection of Ongoing Projects at Permanent Site
As part of his unwavering commitment to ensuring the timely delivery and high-quality completion of legacy projects at the permanent site of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) in Akwete-Akpa, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis Aba Uba, on July 7, 2026, led members of the University's Governing Council on an inspection tour of ongoing construction projects.
The Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Muhammed Salihu, alongside other Council members, expressed satisfaction with the quality and standard of work at the various project sites, commending the progress recorded so far.
However, the Vice-Chancellor expressed concern over the slow pace of work on the building designated for the Departments of Microbiology and Physics. He, together with the Governing Council, directed the contractor handling the project to accelerate construction, emphasizing that further delays or excuses would no longer be tolerated.

The inspection also revealed remarkable progress on the College of Medicine Complex, which is widely regarded as one of the finest in terms of size, aesthetics, and architectural design. Upon completion, the facility is expected to significantly address the University's office accommodation needs while providing state-of-the-art lecture theatres and learning spaces that will strengthen teaching, learning, and research.
The inspection tour underscores the University's unwavering commitment to providing world-class infrastructure that will support academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and quality healthcare training, in line with the vision of positioning FUHSO as a leading institution for medical and health sciences education in Nigeria.
