Federal University of Health Sciences Seeks Government Help Over Rising Electricity Bills

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHS), Benue State, has expressed serious concerns regarding the recent escalation in electricity bills, which it argues is impacting the university’s financial stability.
The university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Innocent Ujah, made these concerns known during an oversight visit by the House of Representatives Committee on University Education, chaired by Abubakar Fulata. Ujah thanked the committee for their visit and requested their support in addressing the soaring electricity costs that threaten the university’s operational efficiency.

Ujah emphasized that the university’s management is committed to enhancing service quality and adhering to international best practices. However, he stressed the need for government intervention to manage the increasing electricity expenses effectively.
