Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) Hosts IJMB Orientation Program:

The School of Basic and Remedial Studies (SBRS) at the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) recently hosted its sixth Orientation Program for Interim Joint Matriculations Board (IJMB) students for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.

The event, held at the Twin Hall, Mallam Adamu Adamu Office and Lecture Complex on the Permanent Site Campus of FULafia, was graced by esteemed guests and educators.

During this significant event, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, delivered an inspiring address to the incoming IJMB students. He emphasized the importance of dedication to studies, adherence to university regulations, and the embodiment of the university's core values: Integrity, Innovation, and Excellence.

Abdul Rahman encouraged the students to set clear academic goals and to aim for excellence, which would pave the way for their admission to degree programs after successfully completing the IJMB program. He also emphasized the importance of humility, fostering positive relationships with fellow students, and being vigilant regarding security, both on and off-campus.

Moreover, the Vice-Chancellor introduced the Speak-Up Program, an initiative of his administration, and Suggestion Boxes, as channels through which students can voice concerns or register complaints to the university's management.

Dr. Muhammad Binin, the Director of SBRS, expressed gratitude to the university's management, staff, and students for their presence and support during the Orientation Program. Several informative sessions were conducted during the event, covering topics such as "Getting to Know the University (FULafia)," "Overview of Faculties and Departments in FULafia," and "Overview of Library Services."

Prof. Aleruchi Chuku, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs, delivered a goodwill message to the students. She urged them to make wise choices, maintain focus, and avoid distractions during their time on campus, in order to excel in the IJMB program and become exemplary ambassadors of their families and society as a whole.

The Orientation Program also included a question-and-answer session that addressed any uncertainties or inquiries students had about the IJMB program. This event marks the university's commitment to providing a conducive learning environment and fostering academic excellence.
