NSUK Hosts Maiden End-of-Year Get-Together, Awards Staff and Units for Excellence
Nasarawa State University, Keffi, held its inaugural End-of-Year Get-Together, celebrating staff and directorates with awards for their outstanding contributions in 2024.
It was a festive evening at the Convocation Arena of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), as the institution held its maiden End-of-Year Get-Together on December 8, 2024. The event, which featured music, comedy, and awards, was organized by the university's management as a testament to its commitment to staff welfare and camaraderie.
In her welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman (FELLOW; UNESCO ACLS FIIFPN), expressed her resolve to sustain the event annually throughout her tenure and beyond, despite the university's limited resources.
She emphasized the significance of the occasion, describing it as a platform for staff to reflect on achievements, unwind, and foster unity.
Professor Sa’adatu urged the staff to embrace tolerance and fraternity, adding that such values would ensure a peaceful end to 2024 and usher in a prosperous 2025.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards recognizing individuals, faculties, and directorates for their exceptional contributions. Key award categories included:
- Institutional Collaboration and Innovation Award: Presented to staff members like Professors Maikano Muhammad Ari and Abdullahi Adamu Sulaiman, among others, for initiating impactful research and learning projects.
- Learning Management System Compliance Award: Won by the Department of Taxation.
- Best Green Faculty Award: Awarded to the Faculty of Law for excelling in the Green Campus Project.
- Excellence in Administrative Performance: Awarded to the Human Resource Division for outstanding coordination and execution of processes.
- Excellence in Financial Management: Presented to the Cash Office for exemplary budgeting and cost-effective solutions.
- Best Directorate Award: Shared by the Directorate of Linkages and International Cooperation and the Directorate of Academic Planning for their efficient service delivery.
The event concluded with comedy by MC Nappy, lively music, and plenty of food, leaving attendees in high spirits.
