First Japanese Karaoke Competition in Nigeria 2023 at UNIABUJA

Do you know what 'karaoke' is? It is not well known, but karaoke was actually invented by the Japanese. And even today, karaoke is enjoyed on a daily basis by men and women of all ages in Japan.

That's why on 2 and 3 November, during the Japan Culture Day with Japanese guests from Japan, we would like to organize, for the first time in Nigeria, a 'Japanese Language Karaoke Competition'.

There will be small prizes for the first three places, so please come and join us. The conditions and application procedure are as follows.

We are sincerely looking forward to your participation. Also, please look forward to the Japan Culture Day, which will include various aspects of Japanese culture such as 'Ninja', 'Samurai', 'Aikido' and 'Karate'.

Schedule: 2 November 2023 (preliminary rounds) and 3 November 2023 (final round)

Venue: University of Abuja Main Campus

Aims: ➀ To deepen understanding of the Japanese language and culture through karaoke.

②To strengthen ties between people interested in Japanese culture and the Japanese language.

Participation requirement: None in particular. Those who can come to the University of Abuja Main Campus on the day of the competition.

Rules.

➀Selected songs must be in Japanese.

② Prepare a karaoke version of the chosen song (songs with vocals are not allowed).

③Solo or group participation is possible. They are not separated

* One soloist.

* Group registration is limited to three people.

Scoring: Scoring will be divided into four parts:

Japanese pronunciation, pitch, rhythm and expression.

40 points each, 40 points in total.

(No instrumental performance allowed).
