The Management of the Abeokuta Study Centre at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) recently paid a courtesy visit to Chief Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, the former President of Nigeria. Led by the centre director, Dr. Oyekunle Adegboyega, the visiting team expressed gratitude for the unwavering support Chief Obasanjo has provided to the university, particularly in the Abeokuta Centre.

During the discussion, Dr. Adegboyega highlighted the needs of the centre and sought assistance for its beautification. He also emphasized the importance of expanding study centers in Ogun State, proposing new centers in Ifo, Sagamu, and Sango-Ota. These additional centers would bring education closer to the residents of Ogun State.

Chief Obasanjo, in his response, recommended a self-help approach. He suggested exploring the late Chief Delana’s property in Ifo as a potential site for one of the new centers. Additionally, he advised the team to engage with State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Royal Monarch, the Alake of Egba Land, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
