Fortune Aladuru Elected SUG President at MOUAU

Ikpama Aladuru Fortune has been elected President of the Students Union Government (SUG) at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, with 660 votes. The recent electronic election also saw Oka Hadassah Adaoma as Vice-President and Ifeanyi Okwuoha as Secretary General. Other key positions and 76 Student Representative Council members were elected across the university's colleges.

Ikpama Aladuru Fortune has been elected President of the Students Union Government (SUG) at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, for 2024. Aladuru, representing the College of Physical and Applied Sciences (COLPAS), secured 660 votes, defeating his closest rival, Onuegbu Favour from the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology, who received 473 votes. Nnanna Mayor Emmanuel from the College of Natural Sciences placed third with 324 votes.

The electronic SUG elections, held on Wednesday, also resulted in the election of Oka Hadassah Adaoma as Vice-President and Ifeanyi Okwuoha as Secretary General. Onyebinanma Favour Chioma won the position of Assistant Secretary General, while Chibueze David Ibe was elected Director of Welfare.

Additional positions were filled by Onyedikachi Chioma Ribena as Director of Socials, Chinemerem Jonathan Chimeremeze as Director of Finance, and Chinyere Favour Chizaram as Director of Treasury. Uchegbusi John Chiemelie and Mbah Chimaobi W. were elected Director of Transport and Director of Sports, respectively.

Additionally, 76 members of the Student Representative Council (SRC) were elected from the university’s 11 colleges.
