French Department at Federal College of Education Zaria Celebrates Bastille Day
She urged prospective students to consider applying to the department and announced plans to offer French language courses starting from the basics, including options for students from the College’s demonstration school.
The French Department at the Federal College of Education Zaria marked this year’s Bastille Day with a series of activities including a band show, a march, and a parade throughout the College.
Dr. Mrs. Roseline O. Illah, Head of the French Department, addressed attendees, explaining that July 14 is celebrated annually to commemorate France's liberty and independence, which began with the revolution in 1789. This year’s event was themed "Learn French and Improve the Nation," highlighting the potential benefits of learning French, such as job creation and employment opportunities for young people.

Dr. Illah also addressed concerns regarding the department's challenges, including low student enrollment and limited awareness of the benefits of studying French. She urged prospective students to consider applying to the department and announced plans to offer French language courses starting from the basics, including options for students from the College’s demonstration school.
She expressed gratitude to the Provost, Dr. Suleiman Balarabe, Deputy Provost Dr. Haliru Musa, Acting Registrar Alh. Shehu Iya, and other supporters for their assistance and encouragement in promoting the department.
