From BUK to Bar: Rabi’u Inuwa Gama Secures First Class at Nigerian Law School
A former Bayero University, Kano (BUK) graduate, Rabi'u Inuwa Gama has achieved a major milestone in his academic journey, graduating from the Nigerian Law School, Abuja Campus with a FIRST CLASS.
The young legal practitioner, who completed his first degree at BUK with an impressive CGPA of 4.43, said he was initially overjoyed—though he noted that he narrowly missed the first class by just 0.07.
However, according to him, his story did not end at the university level. He explained that for law students, the journey continues with another crucial opportunity—the Nigerian Law School.
Upon arrival at the Abuja campus, Rabi’u described the training environment as “completely different,” stressing that the challenges were “unbelievably tough” and “extremely slippery,” adding that university preparation alone could not truly equip anyone for what lay ahead.
He further revealed that about three months into the programme, he fell seriously ill, requiring over a dozen injections, and was eventually admitted to the Law School clinic—an experience he said was his first time being hospitalized.
Despite moments where he considered giving up, the graduate credited people around him for sustaining his resolve.
Finally, he expressed gratitude to God, announcing that he has now successfully graduated from the Nigerian Law School with a FIRST CLASS, stating that the long and demanding journey has come to an end.
In his message, Rabi’u also thanked his family, lecturers, mentors, colleagues, and friends for their support throughout the period. He noted that he received warm congratulatory messages after the news was shared on the platform earlier yesterday.
From BUK Second Class Upper to Law School First Class, Rabi’u Inuwa Gama’s achievement serves as an inspiring reminder that persistence, support, and faith can turn setbacks into success.
