From First Class to Fried Delights, North West University Ex-Student Union President Ventures into Waina Business

Former Student Union President of Northwest University, Comrade Habiba Garkuwa, who graduated with a First Class degree, has embraced the business of selling fried flour cakes (waina). 

Habiba Usman Garkuwa said she has submitted countless job applications—so many that she can't even remember the number—but has yet to receive any response. As a result, she decided to start frying bean cakes (akara) and flour cakes (waina) as a means of livelihood.

Habiba Usman Garkuwa was the best graduating student from the Department of Biological Sciences at Northwest University in 2024.
