FUD VC to Support Reorganization of FUD Almni

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Mohammed has promised to support the reorganization of the Federal University Dutse Alumni Association in order to make function effectively.

The VC who made the pledge when the interim leadership of the association visited him in his office, said it is in the long term interest of the university to have a functional and robust Alumni Association, adding that Alumni Association in developed countries are mostly responsible for funding most of the activities of their almamater.

Abdulkarim said he is well experienced in the area of organizing an Alumni Association and he is ever ready to assist the nascent body to grow into a successful organization.

The Interim President of the association, Mal.Sani Sabo Idris said they have been at the helm of affairs for over 8 years and nothing has been achieved, adding that time has come for the association to take its rightful place in the scheme of things in the University.

He said their major problem is the official registration of the body because they have not made much progress on the matter, adding that they want the University to come in and assist them.

Mal. Idris told the VC that they already have thousands of members willing to identify and work for the University when the registration of the association is ready.

He thanked the VC for giving them the opportunity to discuss the Alumni challenges with him, adding that they will get back to him soon.
