FUL VC Urges Security Awareness as He Meets Newly Elected Students' Union Leaders
The new leaders were formally introduced to the University Management during a familiarization visit led by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Musa Yusufu Abdullahi, ahead of their official inauguration.
The Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, has congratulated the newly elected Students' Union executive, led by Comrade Benjamin Anthony, following their recent election victory. The new leaders were formally introduced to the University Management during a familiarization visit led by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Musa Yusufu Abdullahi, ahead of their official inauguration.
During the meeting, Professor Akinwumi charged the student leaders to be innovative and uphold the positive image of the university as ambassadors. He urged them to maintain good behavior and assured that the university management would not interfere in their activities, as long as they work in cooperation with relevant authorities and avoid any actions that could cause disruption or unrest within the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor also emphasized the need for students to be security conscious, advising them to avoid staying out late and engaging in activities that may pose security risks. He called on the student body to intensify efforts in sensitizing their peers on safety, following recent security incidents within the institution.
Professor Akinwumi further urged the students to report any cases of sexual harassment and to resist being complicit in such matters, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students.
