LASU Holds 126th Inaugural Lecture

Lagos State University, LASU, held its 126th Inaugural Lecture on Tuesday, 28th July 2026 at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Main Campus, Ojo.

The lecture was delivered by Professor Ayodeji Olasunkanmi Abari. It was titled, "Leadership is the Answer. But What is the Question: An Octopus Threshold Model."

The event drew a large audience consisting of members of the University management, academic and non-academic colleagues, students, family members, and well-wishers.

In the lecture, Professor Abari examined the concept and practice of leadership through his proposed "Octopus Threshold Model." He interrogated the challenges of leadership in contemporary society and offered insights on how effective leadership can address pressing institutional, social, and national questions.

The inaugural lecture is part of LASU's academic tradition where professors present the findings of their research and contributions to knowledge before the University community.

Members of management commended Professor Abari for his scholarship and for adding to the intellectual discourse of the University. Students and guests described the lecture as thought-provoking and relevant to current leadership conversations in Nigeria and beyond.
