The leadership of the College of Medicine, Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), recently hosted a celebratory get-together to honour Dr. Benedict Saave Akorga following his successful career transition within the institution.

The event, organized by the Provost of the College, Professor Ali Is’haq Shugaba, and the Dean, Professor Ishaku Bako, alongside staff of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, marked Dr. Akorga’s official conversion from the non-teaching cadre to the teaching cadre.

Dr. Akorga, who previously served as the Faculty Officer, was commended for his dedication and administrative excellence during his tenure in the non-teaching sector. His transition to the academic workforce is seen as a significant milestone, adding specialized expertise to the Faculty of Clinical Sciences.

Speaking at the gathering, the Provost, Professor Shugaba, congratulated Dr. Akorga on his new role, noting that his intimate knowledge of the university’s administrative framework, combined with his academic qualifications, would be a major asset to the College’s teaching mission.
