Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has demonstrated its commitment to staff development through a specialized training program focusing on mentorship and emotional intelligence for senior staff.

Held at the Faculty of Agriculture Mini Lecture Hall, Permanent Site Campus, the event aimed to equip staff with essential skills to enhance their performance.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration Professor Ali Ishaq Shugaba, emphasized the importance of mentoring skills and emotional intelligence in fostering a productive work environment.

Registrar Malam Nurudeen Abdu expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for supporting the initiative, highlighting the need for senior staff to mentor younger colleagues to ensure succession.

The training, organized by the Staff Productivity and Promotion Unit (SPPU), targeted senior staff on grade levels 12 and above.

Expert presenters included Dr. Abubakar H. Ahmed II, Head of Quality Assurance, who discussed the significance of mentoring and mentorship in workplace development, and Mr. Mustapha Hanafi Idiaro, who addressed emotional intelligence and stress management.
