FULafia V-C inaugurates Agric Faculty Library, others
The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof Shehu Abdu Raman, has inaugurated the newly upgraded library of the Faculty of Agriculture.

The library, named: "Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman Library" is situated at the Faculty of Agriculture premises, Permanent Site Campus of the University.
Also inaugurated by the vice-chancellor were a fish pond and a signpost.
The inaugurations of the facilities were part of activities lined up to mark the fourth students orientation programme for the 2023/2024 academic session of the faculty.

The vice-chancellor, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Prof. Samaila Usman Dakyes, congratulated the faculty staff for upgrading the faculty library.
He thanked the dean and the faculty board for naming the library after Abdul Rahman, saying that library plays an important role in promoting education, research, personality development, ethics and other important values.

While declaring the orientation programme open, the vice-chancellor urged the students to take their studies as if their lives depended on it.
He said: " You have to utilise the opportunity you have to be in the University to make your dreams come true and be great."
Delivering the keynote address, the Registrar of the University Malam Nuradeen Abdu, appreciated the faculty for putting together the orientation programme, expressing his gratitude for the steady development of the faculty.
He advised the students to uphold the rules and regulations of the University and
shun all forms of violence behaviours, cultists and other social vices capable of distracting them from their studies.
In his welcome address the dean of the faculty, Prof Usman Alhassan, represented by the deputy dean, Dr Abdullahi Jaji, expressed his gratitude to the vice-chancellor and his Management team members for giving the faculty the needed support to execute the projects and the orientation programme.
Jaji stated that the faculty was working hard to ensure the successful graduation of its first sets of students.
The event witnessed the presentation of awards to some staff and students who have distinguished themselves.
