FULafia Vice-Chancellor Appoints New Acting Deans and Anti-Corruption Chairman

Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Lafia, has appointed new acting deans for four faculties and a chairman for the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, effective October 15, 2024.

The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, has announced significant appointments within the institution, including new acting deans for several faculties and a chairman for the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit.

In a statement released by the Registrar of FULafia, Malam Nuradeen Abdu, it was revealed that Dr. Adam Al-Amin Abdullahi will serve as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts, while Dr. Jeffrey Ovey Agushaka has been appointed as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Computing. Additionally, Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Rabi’u will take on the role of Acting Dean for the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, and Dr. Mary Mathew will lead the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences in an acting capacity.

These appointments will take effect from October 15, 2024, and each dean will serve for a term of one year. Furthermore, Prof. Ibrahim Ogiri has been appointed as the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit, emphasizing the university's commitment to integrity and accountability. 

These leadership changes are expected to enhance academic administration and promote transparency within the university’s operations.
