FULOKOJA Holds Wake Keep for Late Dr. Esther Olumide
Federal University Lokoja mourns the sudden passing of Dr. Esther Olumide with a heartfelt service of songs and a condolence visit to her family.
It was a sorrowful moment for the Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA) community as families, friends, and colleagues gathered to bid farewell to Late Dr. Esther Olumide, a lecturer in the Department of Philosophy, whose sudden death occurred on Sunday, November 24, 2024.
The service of songs and wake keep, held in her honour, was marked by grief and sober reflection as mourners paid their last respects. With tears in their eyes, attendees shared fond memories of Dr. Olumide's life and contributions to the academic community.
Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) led other university management officials, faculty staff, and members of the university community to the event, demonstrating the profound impact Dr. Olumide had on those around her.
Earlier this week, the Vice-Chancellor personally led a delegation of principal officers and faculty members on a condolence visit to the deceased's family. During the visit, he expressed deep sympathy and pledged the university's support to the bereaved family in this difficult time.
Dr. Olumide's passing has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of many within and outside the FUL community. The university mourns her loss and celebrates her legacy.
