The Management of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has issued a directive re-enforcing the mandatory wearing of official identification (ID) cards on campus, citing a "declining culture" of compliance and rising national security concerns.
In a statement released by the Director of Strategic Communication and Corporate Documentation, Dr. Tósìn Ọlágúnjú, the university emphasized that visible identification is critical to maintaining a safe environment and allowing security personnel to distinguish members of the university community from visitors.
Key Enforcement Details:
Three-Week Grace Period: Formal enforcement will begin three weeks from the date of this notice.
Access Restrictions: After the deadline, staff and students without valid ID cards will be denied entry to the Senate Building and other sensitive facilities.
Visible Display: ID cards must be worn visibly at all times while on the university premises.
Replacement Protocol: Individuals who have misplaced their cards are urged to initiate the replacement process immediately through official channels.
"The ID card serves as an important means of identification and enhances the overall security architecture of the institution," Dr. Ọlágúnjú stated, calling for the full cooperation of the university community to ensure an orderly and conducive learning environment.
