FULOKOJA Receives Endowment for Best Graduating Student in Archaeology
The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has received a significant endowment from Dr. Richard Kuba, a Guest Lecturer from Germany, to recognize and reward academic excellence in Archaeology.
The endowment, valued at five hundred thousand Naira (N500,000.00), will be awarded annually to the best graduating student in the Department of Archaeology.
Dr. Kuba, who delivered the 13th Distinguished Public Lecture of FUL, titled "The Middle Niger: A Historic Trade Hub and Cultural Crossroads," was requested by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, to institute a prize for the best graduating student in Archaeology. In response, Dr. Kuba and his wife, Bridget, generously donated the endowment to support academic excellence in the field.
The "Richard and Bridget Kuba" award will commence in the upcoming academic year, providing a significant incentive for students to excel in their studies. The endowment is a testament to Dr. Kuba's commitment to promoting academic excellence and his appreciation for the warm reception he received during his visit to FUL.
Professor Akinwumi, on behalf of the University Management, expressed gratitude to Dr. Kuba and his wife for their generosity and support for FUL's academic programs. The endowment is expected to have a positive impact on the Department of Archaeology and inspire students to strive for academic excellence.
