FUNAAB Alumni Pay Courtesy Visit to VC Ahead of 28th Convention

The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Alumni Association, today, April 28, 2026, paid a Courtesy Visit to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, as part of activities lined up for its 28th Annual Convention and 27th Annual Lecture Series, themed “Crafting a Sustainable Business and Human Wellbeing.”

The visit formed part of a week-long programme aimed at fostering stronger engagement with key stakeholders and reinforcing the Association’s contributions to the growth and development of the University.

Welcoming the delegation, Prof. Kehinde commended the Alumni Association for its steadfast support and commitment to the University, noting that its interventions have continued to play a significant role in advancing the University’s vision. He particularly lauded the effective utilisation of the hectares of land allocated to the Association, expressing satisfaction with the level of cultivation achieved within a short period. Prof. Kehinde also appreciated the alumni’s humanitarian initiatives, especially in supporting indigent students with school charges and providing food items during examination periods.

In his remarks, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olusegun Idowu, described the relationship between the University Management and the Alumni Association as a productive partnership, emphasising their shared commitment to positioning FUNAAB for greater accomplishments.

Earlier, the Global President of the FUNAAB Alumni Association, Otunba Bolaji Gbadamosi, reiterated the Association’s dedication to impactful and result-oriented initiatives. He stated that the Association remains focused on not only advocating progress but also making meaningful contributions at both national and global levels. He added that the body is committed to constructive engagement, unity, and peaceful collaboration among stakeholders, while operating strictly within the provisions of its constitution to ensure clarity, accountability, and structured participation.

Otunba Gbadamosi, however, commended the Vice-Chancellor for granting the Association the necessary autonomy to function effectively within the University system. He noted that the forthcoming Convention would also provide an avenue to expand the Association’s membership base, thereby strengthening its capacity and ensuring broader representation.
