The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has officially commenced the sale of fresh produce from its Directorate of University Farms (DUFARMS), marking a significant step towards boosting food production and sustainability. The launch event, held on September 10, 2024, was officiated by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, who reaffirmed the university’s commitment to agricultural advancement.

“We will endeavour to give more to do more in farming,” Prof. Kehinde stated, commending the Acting Director of DUFARMS, Dr. Emmanuel Bankole, for his resourcefulness and pledging increased financial support to enhance farm productivity.

Dr. Bankole expressed gratitude for the Vice-Chancellor’s backing and assured continued efforts to provide ample food for both the university and its surrounding communities. The initiative, which will be an ongoing process, featured the sale of various farm products such as yams, vegetables, groundnuts, eggs, carrots, and plantains, attracting a strong turnout of staff and key stakeholders.
