The Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has officially partnered with CWAY Nigeria Dairy Industries Co. Ltd. to enhance the employability of its graduates through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement marks a significant step towards providing valuable career development opportunities for students and alumni.

The MoU was signed on July 25, 2024, in a ceremony attended by key figures from both institutions. Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, welcomed the CWAY team and reaffirmed the university's dedication to excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement. Represented by Prof. Kola Adebayo, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Development, the Vice-Chancellor underscored FUNAAB's ongoing efforts to equip graduates with the skills necessary for success in the job market.
Prof. Iyabode Kehinde, Chairperson of the Employability and Benchmarking Committee and Dean of the College of Biosciences (COLBIOS), addressed the students, emphasizing the importance of preparation for life after graduation. She praised Prof. Thomas Fabunmi for his role in facilitating the partnership and encouraged students to act as ambassadors for the university.
Dr. Matthew Oose, Head of the Career Services and Linkages Unit, discussed the challenges of graduate employability in Nigeria and highlighted the need for universities to offer robust career services to combat unemployment.

The partnership with CWAY aims to create opportunities for mentorship, employment, research work, and career coaching for FUNAAB students and graduates. The MoU was signed by representatives from both organizations, including Mrs. Oluwatoyin Dawodu, Acting Registrar; Prof. Abimbola Osho, Dean-Designate of the College of Animal Science and Livestock Production (COLANIM); Mr. Benson Zheng, Assistant General Manager at CWAY Nigeria; and Mr. Victor Oguike, Human Resources and Administration Coordinator.
The collaboration promises to provide substantial benefits for FUNAAB’s students, enhancing their readiness for the professional world and contributing to reduced unemployment rates in the region.
