FUNAI Announces Suspension of Normal Academic Activities over 2023 General Election
The management of Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ikwo (FUNAI) under the leadership of the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Nwajuiba, announced the suspension of normal academic activities in FUNAI over the 2023 general election, according to the statement memo made available to myschoolnews disclosed that students are to vacate campus from Wednesday 22nd February 2023 to 14th March, 2023.
VACATION OF STUDENTS FROM UNIVERSITY HOSTELS - FUNAI
Following the approval of the Vice Chancellor on the suspension of normal academic activities in the University from Wednesday 22nd February 2023 to 14th March 2023 in line with the Minister of Education and NUC directives, all students living in the University hostels are expected to vacate the University hostels at 12pm on Wednesday 22nd February 2023.
Take note that the Univerity management intends to fumigate the hostels and carry out minor repairs within this period, and as such students are advised to:
Carefully and safely pack their belongings in their rooms and take all their valuable properties with them.
Carry their foodstuff out of the rooms or carefully lock them in their cupboards.
PLEASE MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT THIS.
Ensure their rooms are carefully locked and room keys labeled and handed over to the porters.
DO NOT LEAVE THE HOSTEL WITH YOUR ROOM KEY. If you do the door will be forced open and the University Management will not be held responsible for any loss of property. There will be sanctions for defaulters, please comply.
Also, note that no student should be seen around the hostels during this period, and the security personnel! has been instructed to maintain tight security within the hostel premises and the University environment.
Students are advised to stay safe within this period of election and avoid getting involved in any form of electoral malpractice, thuggery, and such related acts.
The hostels will be reopened at 10 am on 14 March.2023.
